Spot the scaremongering

Some huge companies have gone all in on their server infrastructure investments, and will stop at nothing to trick consumers into a false impression that The Cloud is more secure than using their own servers & PCs. Meanwhile, these companies are trying to secure access to your data — a rehash of the thin-client swindle from the 1980s (which came about as a result of consumers realizing that using dumb terminals to access centralized mainframes was a dumb move compared to operating their own IT stack).
